There's always some trepidation in learning a new hobby. I have been considering a model train set for a long time, I finally decided to try to piece together a functional set, with the intent to switch to DCC once I get the hang of track laying and wiring. I had pieced together some data and ideas from the web, but I had a few questions to make sure I knew what I was doing. The first store I went to said they didn't have time, and there's resources available online. While true, I really needed advice from experienced people. My girlfriend told me about Whistle Stop Trains. I was excited to try again, and this place did not disappoint. Charlie guided me to a quality used engine, power pack, and the right switches so I could figure out wiring. I had it set up the first night. Thanks for taking the time Charlie! I've found my new hobby."
